The refreshed 2021 Chevrolet Traverse has
made its official debut ahead of its arrival at U.S. dealers in late 2020. The
updated Traverse has received revised front and rear fascias, which General
Motors says were inspired by the new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. A new
grille, thin LED headlights and new daytime running lights with integrated LED
turn signals make up the restyled front end, while different LED taillights
give the rear fascia a more up-to-date appearance.
GM says both the LED headlights and
taillights will be standard equipment. The crossover will also have four new
wheel designs on offer, as well. Cabin updates on the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse
include new interior seating options, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
and a new available eight-inch infotainment display.
Following a recent commitment from GM to
offer more standard safety equipment on its vehicles, the updated Traverse will
come standard with Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking,
Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning,
IntelliBeam auto high beams and a Following Distance Indicator. A new Adaptive
Cruise Control – Advanced system will also be offered on the well-equipped 3LT,
RS and Premier trims, while GM’s Safety Alert Seat will now be standard on
Premier and High Country models.
The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse will continue
with the same powertrain: a naturally-aspirated 3.6 V6 LFY engine, good for 310
horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, and a GM 9-speed automatic
transmission. Just like before, front-wheel drive will be standard, while
all-wheel drive is available for extra.
Pricing for the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse
has not yet been announced, but we’re not expecting any major deviations from
the 2020 model.
