Hongqi is getting ready to launch its H5 premium saloon originally based on the Mazda 6 tech. The exterior of the facelifted H5 stays the same except for a differently shaped hood fin – apparently, Hongqi decided to work on the engine range this time around.

The old saloon invariably shipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood, which not everyone found to their liking. The new one offers an alternative: a 1.5-liter turbo rated at 169 hp. In turn, the old 1.8-liter mill gets a 19-hp boost to 197 hp.

Nothing is being revealed about the cabin, but things like a digital dashboard and an up-to-date infotainment system with a large display are the most reasonable to expect.
