Automotive company Iran Khodro has come
out with a fully electric version of its Runna sedan/saloon, which in turns
reuses the Peugeot 206 chassis and tech.
The EV is the first in the history of
Iran, and it reportedly comes powered by a brand-new, in-house designed
powertrain with so far undisclosed specs. The traction battery is fairly small
at 30 kWh and sits below the floor level, so the interior remains every bit as
spacious as it was before. Once fully charged, the manufacturer claims it can
go as far as 220 kilometers.
On an interesting side note, the Runna
Electric weighs in at mere 100 kilograms above its ICE
counterpart. The production should start in two years’ time.
