Brabus is presenting its first take on
Mercedes-Benz’s EQC 400 4MATIC electric SUV and the changes go beyond the
special electricity-themed wrap and custom wheels. The tuner has developed a
performance upgrade for the electric powertrain of the EQC, resulting in more
agile driving dynamics. The Brabus E-PowerXtra performance kit increases the
EV’s power output from 408 PS to 422 PS.
The peak torque jumps even more significantly, from 760 Nm to 830
Nm.
This helps the Mercedes-Benz EQC complete
the zero to 100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds, while the top speed
remains limited to 180 km/h. Interestingly, the Brabus E-PowerXtra
only becomes active when the driver selects the “S” drive mode from the
standard Dynamic Select switch. This means that in all the other modes, the EQC
reverts to stock specification.
To make it stand out, the German aftermarket
company designed an aerodynamic-enhancement kit including a rear spoiler, new
front bumper and other aero parts that are still under development. As for the
custom wheels we mentioned earlier, they are tailor-made Brabus Monoblock Z
10-spoke alloys with diameters of 20 or 21 inches.
The 20-inch model comes with Pirelli P
Zero tires sized 255/45 R20 at the front and 285/40 R20 at the rear. The
21-inch wheels are called Brabus Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” and are wrapped
with ContiSportContact tires of sizes 255/40 R21 (front) and 285/35 R21 (rear).
For the interior, the German tuner offers
a host of exclusive personalization options including fine leather applied
everywhere, aluminum pedals and door-lock pins, scuff plates with backlit
Brabus logo in changing colors, and a custom menu and design for the digital
instrument panel.
