The S-Class of SUVs, aka the Mercedes-Benz
GLS, has entered the Brabus portfolio, emerging with sportier accents inside
and out, and a small boost in power. Building on the AMG Line version, it adds
redesigned surrounds for the side air intakes, with integrated lights,
tailgate-mounted spoiler and the tuner’s badges and logos that replace the
stock ones. A number of different-sized wheels are available at Brabus,
including the 24-inch Monobloc Z Platinum Edition equipping the pictured car,
with Pirelli’s 295/35 front and 335/30 rear tires wrapped around them.
Several exclusive options are available
for the interior, with the list counting pretty much everything an owner could
want, from the stainless scuff plates with the backlit ‘Brabus’ logo to the
aluminum parts for the door-lock pins and pedals. Fine leather can also be
included for an extra penny, as well as Alcantara. The cabin of the white GLS
sports a red and black design all around, and was modified at the company’s
upholstery shop. Different wood inserts, carbon fiber trim and others can
further enhance the revised styling of the vehicle.
The only power upgrade currently available
at the tuner targets the 2.9-liter diesel powering the GLS 400d 4Matic, bumping
it from 330 PS and 700 Nm of torque, to 370 PS and 750 Nm. A protein cocktail is being prepared
for the GLS 580 4Matic petrol mild-hybrid model, which features a 4.0-liter V8
with 489 PS and 700 Nm, backed up by the ISG with
an extra 22 PS and 250 Nm.
Finally, Brabus would take your money for
the aftermarket control module for the AirMatic air suspension, which drops the
body by 25 mm.
