James Glickenhaus has revealed the first
pic of a new vehicle his company – Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus – has been
working on releasing lately. It essentially represents a hybrid between the
Boot (dune buggy) and the SCG 004 (coupe-shaped racecar).
The message says that the company is
looking for an optimum way to launch a kit car in production that would be
flexible in terms of the platform it is based upon, boast a number of
interchangeable elements (such as body panels, brakes and suspension), and be
attractively priced. The ability for quick body and kit swapping would enable
the owners of such cars to easily re-rig them for various activities, such as
desert races, rallies, etc.
The SCG product range currently includes
the supercar named 003, the SCG 007 Le-Mans Concept. the mid-engined 004S, and
the off-road-capable Boot (see video for details). The latter comes powered by
a 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine by General Motors, which delivers up to 650 hp along with 881 Nm of torque to the wheels.
