The Japanese automotive giant will be
joining efforts with the truck maker to design and manufacture a new model of
hydrogen-powered, heavy-duty cab-over truck. The agreement stipulates that the
two companies also run tests together and are entitled to use the new truck
model for their own purposes however they see fit.
The commercial vehicle will be based on
the Hino Profia chassis and come equipped with dual hydrogen cell
batteries giving it around 600 kilometers of range. The next-gen
Toyota Mirai packs the same kind of battery in single count.
