Owners of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette
Stingray looking to add some aggression to their sports cars will be pleased to
know that SpeedKore has just announced a carbon fiber aero package for the
‘Vette.
From the factory, the C8 Corvette was
available with an optional carbon fiber aero package that includes a front
splitter and new side skirts for US$ 4,850. The supplier behind these carbon aero
pieces couldn’t keep up with demand, forcing Chevrolet to cancel the package
altogether. Fortunately, SpeedKore is here and its aero kit is just as
striking.
Found at the front is a carbon fiber
splitter that weighs a mere 0.7 kg and is virtually identical in
shape to the splitter that GM did offer from the factory which the automaker
said added a little bit of downforce to the front end. While SpeedKore hasn’t
said if its splitter adds any downforce, Muscle Cars & Trucks thinks it
might. The splitter comes pre-drilled for installation.
Spin around to the sides and SpeedKore’s
side rocker panels made from carbon fiber have again been modeled after the
original C8 kit and weigh just 1.99 kg each. These rocker panels are
pre-drilled on the bottom and installed using 3M VHB tape.
Customers can have their carbon fiber
parts finished in a gloss finish or a matte finish. Pricing details haven’t
been announced but regardless of price, we’re sure C8 Corvette owners will
flock to SpeedKore to get them.
