The market for ultra-exclusive armored vehicles has increased these past few years to include most cars from the upper classes, so if you want a bulletproof Benz, Bentley, BMW or even an Infiniti, several companies can answer the call.

Inkas has a very generous portfolio that has recently grown to include the 2020 Infiniti QX80. The flagship SUV is brand new and offers BR6 ballistic protection that helps it withstand multiple shots from a 7.62 mm assault rifle and the explosions of up to two DM51 hand grenades.

The Canadian company has made the entire passenger compartment bulletproof, fitting the vehicle with multi-layer resistant glass and reinforced door hinges. The battery and electronic control module are safe from bullets, the suspension has been reinforced to help it cope with the extra weight and the run-flat tires assure a quick getaway.

Power comes from the stock 5.6-liter gasoline V8, which produces 400 HP at 5,800 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, hooked up to a seven-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Inkas did not say how much their armored QX80 costs, but we’re likely looking at a 6-digit number, given that the stock Luxe grade has an MSRP of US$ 66,750, whereas the better-equipped Limited can be bought from US$ 91,450.

Furthermore, customers will have to reach deeper into their pockets, should they want features such as a fire suppression system, emergency lights, heavy-duty brakes and wheels, intercom and a few other items, as these are all optional extras.
