Carlex Design’s latest conversion is
called the Urban Edition and underneath that bespoke body kit lies a Hyundai
Santa Fe crossover. The complete package consists of custom front and rear
bumpers, a new and quite massive grille with the tuner’s logo in the middle, a
rear roof spoiler, rear diffuser, quad exhausts, 20-inch alloy wheels, arch
extensions and a dual-tone black and white color theme. It’s one different
looking Hyundai, that’s for sure.
Inside, there are bespoke front leather
seats featuring quilted Italian Alcantara and lime-colored inserts, which can
also be found on the door panels and steering wheel. The wheel by the way also
has a lime-colored 12 o’clock stripe, some Alcantara here and there, plus a
flat bottom perforated design. The tuner says that the shape of this new
steering wheel “guarantees a comfortable grip and a perfect control over the
car.”
Furthermore, the cabin features several
bespoke embossed and embroidered motifs (like on the headrests), which in turn
help further separate Carlex Design’s proposal from the stock Santa Fe.
While we don’t have an exact launch date,
we can tell you that the Urban Edition Santa Fe will be launched soon, with
South Korea getting dibs on first sales. Eventually, it will make its way to
other countries, including Poland, home of Carlex.
Meanwhile, those of you still fond of the
regular model will be pleased to know that Hyundai is planning on updating the
Santa Fe and judging by what we’ve seen, we’re dealing with a substantial
facelift.
