Hofele has revisited the new-gen
Mercedes-AMG G63, upgrading it inside and out but leaving the engine untouched.
At a first glance, one might think that it looks like any other stock G63, bar
the new logos and 24-inch wheels made in-house, but the German tuner has taken
care of other bits as well.
For one, it treated the exterior with
carbon fiber at both ends and made the wheel arches wider. The custom grille
replaces the stock one and the low-profile LED projector lights, mounted on the
roof, improve visibility at night. Hofele’s range-topping G-Wagen also sports a
pair of electrically-deployable side steps that move in and out as the doors
are opened and closed. The patented feature improves ingress and egress and
also incorporates the side exhaust tips, as the finishers move with it.
A fine selection of leather and Alcantara
upholstery can be found inside, with the seats, dashboard, center console, door
cards, headliner and pillars being fully re-trimmed. Customers can further
personalize the interior of the new G63 with other details, such as the subtle
perforations and stitching. Furthermore, the vehicle can be had as a
four-seater, with two rear individual seats, and even as a six-seater, with an
additional third-row in the back that can be easily removed when there’s need
for additional cargo space.
As we already mentioned, the mechanicals
carry over with no changes whatsoever. This means that the 4.0-liter twin-turbo
V8 still pushes out 577 HP and 849 Nm of torque,
enabling a 0-96 km/h acceleration of 4.5 seconds and a 240
km/h top speed when equipped with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
