We’ve become quite accustomed to seeing
Brabus work on European performance cars but its latest project has just come
out of left field in the form of the Chinese WEY VV7 GT Chinese SUV. Car News
China recently shared these images online and they show that the modified VV7
GT is far from subtle.
In fact, it’s perhaps one of the most aggressive and
sporty SUVs we’ve seen emerge out of China and would certainly turn heads on
the road. As standard, the VV7 GT is already quite
striking and the Brabus-tuned example takes things to new heights thanks to the
presence of a bunch of eye-catching parts.
Car News China reports that the Brabus
variant includes flared fenders, black 21-inch wheels, red brake calipers,
modified front and rear bumpers, a black rear diffuser, an F1-style rear brake
light, and tinted windows. Compared to lesser variants of the VV7 GT, the
Brabus model also gets clear taillights and an enlarged rear deck lid spoiler.
While Brabus has a lot of expertise in
enhancing the performance of the vehicle it works on, it has not messed with
the WEY’s powertrain. Consequently, the SUV continues to feature a 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 227 hp and 387 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission sending power
exclusively through the front wheels.
We don’t yet have any interior images of
the WEY VV7 GT Brabus but suspect it too includes some alterations and perhaps
Brabus badging. The WEY VV7 GT Brabus will launch in China in July with a base
price of 191,800 yuan (US$ 27,103).
