Toyota will start accepting pre-orders for
the facelifted Hilux in the United Kingdom on September 1, prior to the opening
of the order books two months later. For now, customers will have to limit
their choices to the two range-topping grades dubbed the Invincible and
Invincible X, in the double cab body style, with the lesser Active and Icon set
to join the lineup at a later date.
The Hilux Invincible starts at £ 34,925
(US$ 45,746) and is offered with the 148 HP and 400 Nm of torque 2.4-liter diesel that’s mated to a six-speed manual
transmission as standard. The six-speed auto is a £ 1,500 (US$ 1,965) option, while
the new 2.8-liter diesel, rated at 201 HP and 500
Nm, is priced from £ 35,400 (US$ 46,368) with the manual and £ 36,900 (US$ 48,333)
with the automatic gearbox.
This version of Toyota’s pickup truck
features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors,
smart entry and start, climate control, de-icing function for the windscreen
wipers and heated front seats. The Hilux Invincible X adds a dark matte grey
finish for the grille frame, skid plates, side steps, door handles and over
fenders. A two-tone dark leather upholstery, power adjustment for the driver’s
seat, ambient lighting and satellite navigation system are also included.
Power is provided by the 2.8-liter diesel,
with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, which are priced from
£ 38,975 (US$ 51,051) and £ 40,475 (US$ 53,016) respectively. The Toyota Safety Sense
driver assistance suite will be standard on all trim levels, whereas the Icon
will also sport an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple
CarPlay, in addition to the 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, side steps,
LED front fog lamps, power-folding side mirrors, reversing camera and
limited-slip differential.
The new Titan Bronze metallic paint finish
has been added the color palette and customers will have different official
accessories available for the facelifted Hilux, such as the hard tops, roll
covers, locking tailgate and 12V outlet in the bed.
