Say hello to the Bestune E01. Bestune is a
brand from First Auto Works (FAW), previously branded ‘Besturn,’ and the E01
will hit the local market next month. From a visual standpoint, the SUV has a
long hood as well as a set of thin headlights. Viewed from the side, pronounced
creases on the doors immediately catch the eye, as do the pop-out door handles
and the aerodynamic wheels.
As for the rear, the Bestune E01 includes
a spoiler stretching off the roof, LED taillights and a full-width light bar. The SUV is 4,639 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,640 mm tall with a 2,810 mm wheelbase. It tips the scales at 1,810 kg and offers seating for
five.
The inside is where things get really
interesting. Sitting atop the dashboard is a crystal-shaped ‘enclosure’ that
houses a tiny holographic assistant. Customers can choose between various
different holographic figures should they want something different than the
scantily-clad figurine pictured. Elsewhere, the Bestune E01 has a large central
infotainment screen and a fully digital instrument cluster. A third touchscreen
is also used to control various vehicle functions such as the climate control.
Powering the SUV is a 190 hp electric
motor that also produces 320 Nm of torque. Providing this motor
with juice is a 61.34 kWh battery pack and the E01 is said to be good for a 170
km/h top speed. It also has an NEDC range of 450 km.
