Toyota has announced the pricing and
specifications for the 2021 Sequoia lineup, which for the new model year has
gained a new Nightshade Edition. Offered with two- and all-wheel drive from US$ 60,120 and US$ 63,345 respectively, the special edition is based on the mid-spec Limited
grade and features darkened chrome badging, lower grille, fog lamp surrounds
and body moldings.
Available in Midnight Black Metallic,
Magnetic Gray Metallic and Blizzard Pearl, the Sequoia Nightshade is offered
with seating for up to seven, black leather upholstery and the full equipment
specification of the Limited trim, including heated front seats, electric
tailgate, a 7-inch touchscreen display, etc. The Toyota Safety Sense P suite is
standard on every trim level of the Sequoia, bringing safety gear such as lane
departure alert with sway warning, pre-collision with pedestrian detection,
dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, blind spot monitor and rear
cross traffic alert.
Another update for the 2021 model year is
the introduction of a new color for the Sequoia TRD Pro. This version of the high-rider
can now be had in Lunar Rock, a shade that replaces the Army Green in the color
palette and joins the existing Super White, Midnight Black Metallic and
Magnetic Gray Metallic.
The most affordable 2021 Sequoia on sale
is the 4×2 SR5, which has an MSRP of US$ 50,100. The four-wheel drive version
starts at US$ 53,325 while, at US$ 69,375, the Platinum 4×4 remains the most
expensive variant. Power is still provided by the 5.7-liter V8 with 381 HP at 5,600 rpm and 544 Nm of torque at 3,600 rpm
that’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
