German tuner Hofele seems to have a thing for giving regular Mercedes-Benz models a Maybach-like treatment. As you probably know, only the S-Class sedan, S-Class Cabriolet and GLS are available from the factory in the opulent Mercedes-Maybach trim. For a short while, the automaker also offered the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet as a limited-run model.

That said, some owners of less glamorous Mercedes models would like to get something similar to a Maybach treatment applied to their cars and that’s where Hofele comes in. The latest Mercedes to get the pseudo-Maybach makeover is the GLE Coupe, which has been kitted out with bespoke and individual style enhancements. Chief among those is the two-tone exterior paint finish consisting of metallic Grey over Black – or Black over metallic Grey if you prefer.

Hofele also applied its bold Panamericana-like grille on the SUV coupe as well as redesigned chrome detailing around the bumper air intakes. Going by the official name of HGLE Coupe by Hofele, the customized SUV is available with a choice Signature alloy wheels ranging in size from 22 to 24 inches. The tuner also redesigned the rear bumper in sportier fashion and give it quad exhausts and a massive diffuser as well.

For the interior, Hofele offers customers an “an almost limitless choice of colors, stitching and perforation designs”. The aftermarket specialist can upgrade the interior of a stock GLE 400d Coupe to sporty partial leather/Alcantara inserts in the style of the AMG models or go for a complete redesign.

Tailored to the customer’s preferences, the Bespoke Ultimate series of interior enhancements offers the highest quality materials “used to trim every visible and touchable surface”, as well as unique perforation and stitching designs for the leather surfaces.
