Manthey Racing has just revealed its
track-focused upgrade package for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The Porsche-owned
tuning firm hit the headlines when it unveiled its record-breaking 911 GT2 RS
MR a couple of years ago and has since turned its attention to the GT3 RS,
making it more potent than it already is.
Manthey Racing starts out by fitting the
GT3 RS with a set of three- or four-way adjustable coilovers from JW that helps
improve the sports car’s already incredible handling. Additionally, Manthey
Racing installed braided brake lines at the front and rear along with new brake
pads.
Much like its GT2 RS package, the tuner
has also worked on the car’s aerodynamics, designing a towering rear wing with
custom mounting brackets, end plates, and sitting above a small gurney flap on
the decklid. Manthey Racing has also fitted canards to the front bumper and
bespoke side skirts. Should customers want, a set of lightweight magnesium
wheels are available as well, while the rear wheels can also be equipped with a
carbon fiber aero disk that smooths out the airflow over the rear of the sports
car.
The tuner did not mess with the engine of
the GT3 RS. Consequently, it still features a screaming 4.0-liter, naturally
aspirated flat-six with 512 hp at 8,250 rpm and 469 Nm of torque at
6,000 rpm. We’re not yet sure how much faster a Manthey Racing-tuned GT3 RS is
around the Nurburgring than a regular model, but there’s no doubt it could
shave a few seconds off the stock car’s official 6:56.4 lap time.
