Honda is releasing the updated 2021 Civic Type R in Japan on October 9 and customers can personalize it from the get-go with a range of genuine accessories. Sold by Honda Access, the parts focus on improving the hot hatch’s styling and technology, as well as keeping it in tip top shape. Starting off with the former category, the Civic Type R gains a carbon fiber hood air intake made from weaving carbon fiber and red polyester.
The same production process was used to
craft the carbon fiber rear wing and the carbon fiber trim on the dashboard,
center console, and door panels. 2021 Civic Type R owners can further tweak the
exterior appearance courtesy of red front grille garnish and mirror caps, as
well as a set of 20 x 8-inch MR-R02 forged alloys in Championship White Paint
finish.
Inside, the list of available accessories
also includes illuminated red garnishes on each side of the center console and
a custom shift knob available either in aluminum or red leather finish. To
protect the Civic Type R’s paint from scratches, Honda Access also offers
protection film for the door handles, side sills, door edges, and rear bumper.
In addition, a special body cover for large rear wing has been added to the
catalog.
As far as the tech is concerned, customers
can opt for two navigation systems, a front camera system for enhanced
visibility at intersections, and parking sensors. Honda Access made no mention
of any performance-enhancing parts.
