Jaguar has just taken the covers off the facelifted 2021 XF and not only does it have a fresh new exterior, but it benefits from a number of technology and powertrain upgrades. Starting with the exterior, the refreshed Jaguar XF includes a revised front grille and new headlights with ‘Double J’ LED daytime running lights. Jaguar’s designers have also crafted new front and rear bumpers for the new XF, while also fitting a set of tweaked taillights.
Under the skin, the U.S. market ditches
the available V6 of the outgoing model and is available with two petrol
four-cylinder mills. The first is rated at 246 hp and 365 Nm and is
coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission available with rear-wheel
drive or all-wheel drive while the second is also a 2.0-liter turbo unit but
delivers 296 hp and 400 Nm. It too comes exclusively with an
eight-speed and all-wheel drive as standard.
Jaguar says the entry-level 2.0-liter
model can hit 96 km/h in 6.5 seconds while the flagship petrol variant
with all-wheel drive hits the same mark in 5.8 seconds. Other markets will be
offered a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that comes complete with a
mild-hybrid system with a 48-volt system and a belt-integrated starter generator.
This variant produces 201 hp and 430 Nm of torque and has an
eight-speed auto available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems.
Inside, the highlight of the facelifted
2021 Jaguar XF is an all-new 11.4-inch curved glass HD touchscreen not
currently available in any other Jaguar model. Not only is this screen 48 per
cent larger than the previous screen but it is also three times brighter and
has a simplified menu structure that allows drivers to access or view up to 90
per cent of common tasks from the homescreen in two taps or less. The display
also includes the automaker’s latest Pivi Pro operating system that has Apple
CarPlay as standard and Android Auto as standard in select markets. The Pivi
Pro system also offers software-over-the-air updates.
Jaguar has also equipped the new sedan
with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that offers a configurable layout
and works in conjunction with a Head-Up Display. Pricing and availability
details for the U.S. have yet to be announced.
