Aftermarket specialist Prior Design has previewed the redesigned front fascias that it is working on for the controversial new BMW M3 and M4. While BMW continues to defend the massive kidney grilles of the new cars, it is pretty clear that the public doesn’t like them so Prior Design is working on a solution. A recent YouTube video from the company previews a handful of designs that it is working on and intends on making a reality.

One of the designs for the M3 has seen the large kidney grilles shrunk down to roughly half the size but complete with the same horizontal slats. This revised front fascia also includes a bespoke front bumper and new air intakes. Another design has a near-identical fascia to the BMW M8 Competition with the same black kidney grilles, large air intakes, and carbon fiber accents. Both look significantly better than what BMW’s designers have done.

As for the BMW M4, Prior Design is considering a handful of different designs that include unique bumpers, air intakes, and re-shaped kidney grilles. They all look great. Speaking with The Drive, a spokesperson from Prior Design said that it will “probably” produce and release new front fascia options in the future following the positive reception to the designs. We suspect many other aftermarket companies will also look to release bespoke front fascias for the new M3 and M4 that ditch the over-the-top kidney grilles.
