FCA has expanded its Jeep Renegade family in Mexico, with the introduction of the new Bronze Edition. The 2021 model builds on the range-topping Limited and has an identical starting price of 489,900 Mexican pesos (US$ 23,845), joining the 409,900 and 444,900 pesos (US$ 19,950 and US$ 21,265) Sport and Latitude.
Painted in Deep Brown, it sports several
bronze accents on the outside, on the grille, badges and 19-inch aluminum
wheels. There’s still black plastic trim on the lower parts of the body, giving
it a more rugged appearance, and the roof is finished in black while the roof
rails have a dark grey hue.
The interior follows the same theme, with
the seats, the armrest and the door panels upholstered in Deep Brown leather. The
rest of the cockpit remains unchanged, and is more than decently specified,
with standard features such as the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system, voice
control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sunroof and automatic climate control.
There’s also a 7-inch color TFT screen behind the multi-function steering
wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry and push-button start.
Safety features such as emergency brake assist, electronic anti-roll
assistance, hill-start assist, ESC, TC, engine immobilizer, alarm, tire
pressure monitoring and others are also included.
Power comes from a 1.8-liter E-TorQ four
cylinder that delivers 130 HP and 182 Nm of torque. It is mated to
a six-speed automatic transmission and returns 14.29 km/l, or 33.6 mpg US (7
l/100 km).
