The forthcoming Nissan 400Z has the potential to help return the Japanese marque to its glory days and if horsepower and torque figures from the Project Cars 3 game are accurate, it may easily out-perform the Toyota Supra.

We know that the 400Z will land with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, the same unit as the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400. In that model, the powertrain is good for 400 hp and 474 Nm but technical specifications released for the car in Project Cars 3 claim that it has 444 hp. The game doesn’t list a torque figure but adds the car weighs 1,475 kg, meaning it isn’t just lighter than the Toyota Supra but also lighter than the Nissan 370Z. Will these figures prove to be accurate? It’s hard to say but if they are, we have a very exciting car on our hands and one that may get enthusiasts excited about the Nissan brand once more.

The Nissan Z Proto is available on Project Cars 3 through the Power Pack DLC which adds the likes of the 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex, 2002 Nissan Silvia (S15) Spec R Aero, and the 2020 Nissan 370Z. The Power Pack DLC costs US$ 9.99. Nissan first showcased the Z Proto with a six-speed manual transmission and the production car is also expected to be equipped with a stick shift, although an automatic may be offered as an option. Drive will be sent through the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

The Nissan 400Z should be unveiled sometime this year.
