Stellantis Mexico has announced that the first ‘Desert Rated’ Jeep, the 2021 Gladiator Mojave, is now available in the country. The off-road focused pickup truck has a reinforced chassis, Dana 44 solid axles, Fox performance shocks with external reservoirs, a lift kit, silver front skid plate and 17-inch black aluminum wheels shod in 33-inch tires.
The Gladiator Mojave has attack and
departure angles of 44.7 and 25.5 degrees respectively, and 11 inches (29.4 cm)
of ground clearance. It can also tow up to 2,700 kg, with power
supplied by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which produces 285 HP and 353 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic
transmission with a two-speed transfer case and rear differential lock.
A pair of sports seats were added to the
cabin, which features black leather upholstery with orange stitching, Mojave
logos, a 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch TFT in the
instrument cluster. A premium sound system signed by Alpine, with 9 speakers
and 552-watt subwoofer, is also included, alongside a front off-road camera
that improves visibility.
The 2021 Gladiator Mojave is available in
an exclusive Manta Ray Gray color and sits at the top of the range priced from
1,265,900 pesos, or US$ 61,320 at the current exchange rates. The mid-range
Gladiator Rubicon can be ordered from 1,228,900 pesos (US$ 59,525) for 2021 and
the Gladiator Overland is offered from 1,129,900 pesos (US$ 54,730).
