Shortly after Hyundai released the first photos of the 2021 Staria people mover, the vehicle has been spotted in the flesh for the very first time. This particular Staria was filmed in a parking garage in South Korea and is a pre-production prototype but it is representative of the finished model. It also features an intriguing two-tone black and white paint scheme although it is unclear if this two-tone finished will be offered to customers.
The most striking element of the new
Staria is its front end that includes a full-width LED light bar that acts as
the daytime running light and separate headlamp units on either side of the
black grille. It looks very modern and also looks huge parked alongside a
Hyundai Tucson.
While this video is in South Korean, the
presenter can be seen discussing the size of the side windows that will no
doubt give the vehicle excellent visibility. We are also offered a glimpse of
the Staria’s interior, although this model clearly isn’t one of the
range-topping units as its infotainment system is smaller and features physical
buttons, rather than touch buttons like high-end models.
The video also highlights the rear of the
new Staria that consists of elongated LED taillights with pixelated LEDs
similar to those of the Ioniq 5. Hyundai is remaining tight-lipped on what
engines will be offered for the Staria but we know it will be fully unveiled in
the coming months. After the passenger-focused variant hits the market, the
company will release a commercial variant.
