The next-generation 2022 Kia Sportage has been filmed up close in South Korea and clearly looks very different than the outgoing model. The prototype is wearing thick black body cladding, helping to hide many of its design details. However, by taking a close peek, the presenter of this video was able to uncover some areas of the SUV’s exterior.
In particular, we get our first
opportunity to see the LED taillights of the new Sportage. Complete with a
complex and sharp design, these taillights don’t just look very different than
the old model but are also distinct from other Kias.
Much like prototypes snapped in the midst
of testing by our own spy photographers, this one also has a unique set of
wheels with gloss black and chrome spokes. As for the front of the new
Sportage, we know that it will rock a bold headlight design with angular LED
daytime running lights. Kia’s tiger nose grille will also grow in size to
encompass most of the front fascia, looking similar to the grille of the new
Chinese-spec Sportage Ace.
Kia is also expected to make comprehensive
changes to the interior of the new Sportage, including the fitment of an
enlarged infotainment screen and a new steering wheel. In fact, the Sportage
may receive the new Nvidia Drive platform that includes audiovisual,
navigation, connectivity, and artificial intelligence connected-services.
