Alpine unveiled a pair of special A110 models that were used by Alpine F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon during the F1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola over the weekend. The French car manufacturer refers to these two special A110 models as ‘trackside cars’, noting that they are based on the flagship A110S model. Making the duo stand out is the same satin blue, white, red, and black livery as this year’s Alpine F1 car, which we happen to think is one of the best-looking liveries on the grid.
As these two are based on the A110S, they
are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 288 hp and 320 Nm of torque. While that may not sound like all that much in a world
where hot hatches, including Renault’s own, are pumping out over 300 hp, the
A110S tips the scales at just 1,113 kg.
Earlier this year, Alpine announced that
it will partner with Lotus to develop an all-electric sports car. Details about
this vehicle, such as which platform it will ride on and what powertrain it
will use, are unknown at this stage.
