Czech company Praga Cars and designer Frank Stephenson have unveiled a product of their collaboration: a Praga R1 racecar adorned with a unique livery.
Carbon fiber and polymer bodywork flaunts
Czech national flag colors interspersed with golden accents. The front end
bears an image of a two-tailed lion, one of Czech Republic’s two heraldic
animals. The other one – the eagle – is inexplicably missing. The entire body
is adorned with white lines reminiscent of air streams, while the rear wing has
Praga’s #WinningInstinct motto written on it.
The designer claims he succeeded in
grasping the very essence of the unbridled racer and painted it to reflect its
strengths. He also announced a second collaboration coming later this year. In
the meantime, the Praga R1 has already proceeded to its track tests in Great
Britain, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder good for 370 PS and 395 Nm of torque. A sequential transmission handles
the power.
The first race is scheduled for April 24,
2021.
