Kaiyi, a Chinese brand formerly known as Cowin and co-owned between Wuliangye Group and Chery, has updated its Showjet/Xuanjie model. The new version has a suffix ‘Pro’ added to its name and packs a more powerful turbocharged engine.

The car is technically similar to the Chery Tiggo 5x and stays unchanged at 4,400 mm long, 1,831 mm wide and 1,653 mm tall with 2,632 mm between the axles. Differences from the old version include a redesigned front bumper, a radiator grille, fake exhaust tips, and optional accents.

The interior is only available via sketches for now. It basically looks like the Tiggo cabin with a different center tunnel, air vents and trim. The 10.25-inch display duo is no longer united under a single sheet of glass.

Powering the crossover is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a CVT and producing 156 PS. The old naturally aspirated mill of the same volume with 116 PS and five-speed manual transmission is no longer available. Sales will start soon, and while prices remain to be announced, the current version costs from 58,900 Yuan.
