This is the Bussink GT R SpeedLegend and it is essentially a Mercedes-AMG GT R Speedster. The car is the brainchild of German product designer Roland A. Bussink and was inspired by the Mercedes-McLaren SLR Stirling Moss and Mercedes F1 cars. It also launches at a time when various other car manufacturers are releasing limited-run speedsters, such as the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, the McLaren Elva, and the Aston Martin V12 Speedster. Just five units are bound for the production line and each will be built by HWA AG.
Perhaps the first thing that will catch
your eye is the Speedbow, which stretches from just in front of the tiny
windshield, extends over the cabin and eventually connects to the rollover
hoops behind the seats. The Speedbow, which resembles the “halo” used in
Formula 1 cars, is made from carbon fiber and incorporates ambient lighting on
its underside.
The GT R SpeedLegend also features a
handful of other bespoke components, including carbon fiber louvers on the
front wheel arches. It is said to weigh 100 kg less than a standard
GT R Roadster and should be quite the performer. In standard guise, the
4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 of the AMG GT R Roadster churns out 577 hp and 700 Nm of torque. However, thanks to a handful of modifications, in
the SpeedLegend it delivers 850 hp.
As mentioned, just five units will be
built and each will feature a bespoke paint scheme. It is understood that all
examples have already been sold.
