Japanese car customizer Mitsuoka has unveiled the Viewt Nostalgia, a retro-themed conversion of the Nissan March compact also known as the Micra. The Viewt line has been out there for 28 years, and the tuner made sure to update it whenever a new generation of the Micra hit the market. Throughout all three generations, it has aimed to resemble the iconic 1963 Jaguar Mark 2 sedan. This has usually been achieved through designing a special front fascia, rear end, and cabin. The latest generation is 4,515 mm long.

For 16 years now, Mitsuoka has been offering a 3.98-meter hatchback version of the car named the Viewt Nadeshiko. Compared to its five-door donor, it boasts a retro-themed rear bumper. The Viewt Nostalgia comes in four- and five-door flavors and has much more to show for being ‘retro’: you can go for a deep blue or beige paintjob, 14-inch stainless-steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, a leather interior trim color-matched to the body, and special badges. Things stay stock on the drivetrain front, where a 1.2-liter petrol engine links to a CVT and produces 79 PS.

Orders will be accepted until December 23, 2021. Customers in Japan will have to hand over at least the equivalent of US$ 26,000 for the hatchback version or US$ 29,000 for the sedan version. The original Nissan March is much more affordable than that, starting from a mere US$ 12,000.

Mitsuoka specializes in turning regular modern cars to resemble aged classics. Its latest Buddy model, a crossover SUV with Chevrolet Blazer looks and Toyota RAV4 tech inside, will keep it occupied for at least 2.5 years with the sheer number of pre-orders.
