Great Wall’s automotive sub-brand Wey has unveiled the Latte, a new crossover SUV that will go on sale alongside the Macchiato and the Mocha.
The car looks much like the other
WEY-badged crossovers and slots in right in between them in terms of
dimensions. Specifically, it is 4,668 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,730 mm tall
with 2,745 mm between the axles. Wheels are available in 19 and 20 inch sizes.
The Lemon Hybrid DHT system powering the
car uses a 1.5-liter turbo four-pot and an electric motor for 238 PS. There is no charging it from the grid, but the system supports
parallel and serial operation modes. A non-hybridized Latte should become
available later as well. There are three displays inside, including a rather
slim dashboard, a central touchscreen and a HVAC control panel. A heads-up
display is available at a premium.
Li Ruifeng, General Manager of the Wey
brand, also revealed the company’s plans for the future. Apparently, there are
a few sedans, a six-seat MPV, a van and two crossover SUVs coming to the market
soon. The first sedan model will debut next month.
Aside from the “coffee” models, the
brand’s current lineup includes such entries as the VV5, VV6, VV7 and VV7 GT.
Prices vary between 125,800 and 258,800 Yuan. The abovementioned new releases
are heading upmarket, though, so prices above 300,000 Yuan are to be expected
soon.
