The Lotus Emira could very well prove to be one of the last great combustion engine sports cars and shortly after its global debut, the official online configurator has been released. As car configurators go, this one isn’t particularly comprehensive but does give you the chance to design your dream Emira. The first area of the British sports car that can be customized is the paint with Seneca Blue, Nimbus Grey, Shadow Grey, Dark Verdant, Hethal Yellow, and Magna Red available. Our dream Emira is finished in Magma Red, a color that really brings out the Evija-inspired bodywork.

Elsewhere, the Emira is available with a Black Pack and a Lower Black Pack. The first of these adds a black roof while the Lower Black Pack simply adds black tailpipes as opposed to chrome-finished tailpipes. Six different wheel options are available. Our personal favorites are the ultra-lightweight V-spoke forged allows finished in gloss black and contrasted by yellow brake calipers.

The interior can be customized with black leather, Ice Grey leather, red, leather and tan leather, or black Alcantara with red, yellow, or grey stitching. The steering wheel can also be trimmed in either leather or Alcantara.

Two engines will be offered for the Emira. The first is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder thought to have been sourced from the Mercedes-AMG A 35 hot hatch. This engine has been modified to produce 360 hp and is paired exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Those seeking more power can opt for the same Toyota-derived 3.5-liter supercharged V6 as the old Exige and Evora and producing 395 hp and 430 Nm. This engine is available with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.
