Audi has added two new all-electric Q4 e-tron models to its lineup, featuring all-wheel-drive and a little extra range to the model. The Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron will have the most range of any Q4, offering 534 km of range on the WLTP test cycle, which tends to be a little more optimistic than America’s EPA cycle. More than simply being the longest-range Q4, though, the Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron is the longest-range EV available in the entire Audi lineup. Powered by a single electric motor at the back axle, it gives you 201 hp to play with.
The Q4 45 e-tron quattro, meanwhile, uses electric motors at either axle. Together, they produce a combined 261 hp, which is enough to get the compact SUV up to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 180 km/h.
The Q4 e-tron is the smallest Audi EV and is based on the MEB platform, which the Volkswagen empire uses for brands like Skoda, SEAT, and VW in cars like the ID.3 and the ID.4. The Q4 adds Audi luxury touches, though, with an optional 11.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display.
Produced in Zwickau at a facility that uses renewable energy exclusively, Audi and Volkswagen have worked to keep emissions as low as possible throughout the assembly process on the Q4 e-tron. Pricing for the Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron starts at € 49,500 (US$ 58,846) in its home market in Germany, while the Q4 45 e-tron quattro’s prices will start at € 50,900 (US$ 60,510).
