Mercedes has announced plans to storm the Munich Motor Show with eight premieres, five of which are fully electric. The all-new EQE will be the star of the show and it promises to be a sporty, spacious and comfortable electric vehicle. The company is keeping details under wraps, but they released a couple of new teaser images. The exterior photo shows the model will follow in the footsteps of the EQS and feature streamlined styling, muscular rear haunches and slender taillights.
The EQS-inspired styling continues in the cabin as the car has been outfitted with an MBUX Hyperscreen. It presumably features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. We can also expect a more basic setup that includes a 12.3-inch cluster display and a smaller 12.8-inch infotainment system. Elsewhere, there’s a floating center console and a three-spoke steering wheel. We can also see turbine-style air vents, an ambient lighting system and a head-up display.
Mercedes was coy on performance specifications, but the powertrain is expected to be similar to the one used in the EQS. As a result, there could be a 450 variant with a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 329 hp and 568 Nm of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, hit a top speed of 210 km/h and have a WLTP range of up to 780 km.
The EQS also offers a 580 4MATIC variant, which has a dual motor all-wheel drive system developing 516 hp and 855 Nm of torque. This cuts the 0-100 km/h time to 4.3 seconds, but the range also falls to 676 km.
