Great Wall Motor’s sub-brand Haval has designed a mid-size crossover SUV dubbed the Monster, which will likely be marketed a step above its F7 model. The car featured in the China patent database resembles the XY Concept shown in the video here, complete with a sleek aerodynamic silhouette, a wide air intake, contrast-rich accents and dual-section LED headlights with low and high beams built straight into the bumper.
In terms of dimensions, the newcomer comes closest to the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Kia Sorento. Specifically, it is 4,780 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,675 mm tall with 2.8 meters between the axles. Power is provided by a gasoline turbo engine rated at 184 PS, which is paired up with a seven-speed DCT and a front-wheel drive system. The patent mentions that the car consumes between 7 and 7.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
China sales are expected to start later this year.
