Lexus has revealed the design of the 2022 RX 350 and RX 450H Black Line, of which just 2,500 will be produced for North America. The company plans to split that number between the two models, with 2,100 gas-powered models and just 400 of the hybrid models. Although it’s called Black Line, customers can pick one of two colors: Caviar or Eminent Pearl White to help the black accents pop.

Either way, the SUV gets black 20-inch wheels with black lug nuts. The grille is also finished in black, as are the mirror caps and the lower front bumper. At the back, meanwhile, the Black Line models get a black nameplate in the lower right of the rear power door.

Inside, Lexus has chosen black open-pore wood trim, and Black NuLuxe seats, though the stitching is done with gray thread to help provide a little contrast. That stitching carries throughout the interior, on the center console, the shift boot, the steering wheel, and the upper instrument panel. Finally, black floor mats, cargo mats, and key gloves help really sell the look. All RX Black Line Special editions build on the Premium Package, which includes power seats, mirrors, and steering wheel with memory.

If the package sounds somewhat familiar to you, that’s because it’s very similar to the Black Line trim offered for the RX 350L and the RX 450hL, the longer wheelbase versions of the same SUV. Those models, though, were limited to just 495 examples, in total. Prices for the vehicles start at a suggested MSRP of US$ 49,450 for the RX 350 Black Line, and US$ 52,150 for the RX 450h AWD Black Line. Both are currently available at showrooms around the U.S.
