The BMW M8 is the bavarian company’s flagship grand tourer with plenty of power and dynamic looks, but as G-Power suggests, there’s always room for improvement. The new members of the tuner’s most powerful series – the G8M Hurricane RS and RR – bring supercar levels of performance with up to 887 hp. The tuning package is available for all bodystyles – coupe, convertible or gran coupe.

This is not the first M8-based model unveiled by G-Power as the company already offers a variety of tuning kits for the German grand tourer. However, as always, the “Hurricane” models are the most powerful options. In stock form, the BMW M8 Competition is fitted with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 producing 625 PS and 750 Nm of torque. Taking inspiration from the M5-based G5M Hurricane RR from last year, G-Power managed to increases those figures to 887 hp of power and 1,050 Nm of torque for the G8M Hurricane RR. There is also the slightly less powerful G8M Hurricane RS with 828 hp and the same 1,050 Nm of torque.

Both tuning kits feature hardware and software changes including upgraded turbochargers with larger intake and exhaust areas and CNC-milled housings. The more powerful kit has additional modifications including forged pistons, modified connecting rods, a larger cooling package, and a reinforced drivetrain. Both models are fitted with the stainless steel Deeptone exhaust which comes with sport downpipes, sport catalytic converters, and four 110 mm carbon tailpipes.

Thanks to the significant power boost, both the G8M Hurricane RS and RR can reach a top speed of 340 km/h that is limited only because of the tires. As for acceleration, while the company didn’t release any figures, it is most likely that the tuned vehicles will be faster than the stock car which accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.

Visually, as with all models in the Hurricane series, the G8M is painted in a bright orange metallic exterior shade, combined with carbon-fiber details. It also gets a new carbon hood made by Ventury with integrated vents, and a carbon rear wing sitting on CNC-milled bases. G-Power offers two types of 21-inch forged wheels shod in mixed performance tires (285/30ZR21 at the front and 295/30ZR21 at the rear). Suspension is also lowered thanks to new and adjustable coilovers. Last but not least, the interior gets hand-finished leather and Alcantara upholstery, plus carbon-fiber trim. A numbered plaque on the center console will make sure the co-driver knows they are inside a very special M8.

The G8M Hurricane RS and RR are not yet listed on G-Power’s official website but if you want more information you can contact the tuner directly. Pricing hasn’t been announced but judging from the € 115,000 (US$ 136,784) needed for the similar G5M Hurricane RR conversion (not including the cost of the donor car), it won’t come cheap.
