Bentley announced recently that it would embark on a partnership with The Macallan, a whisky maker in Scotland. This Bentayga is the car that will be seen on the distiller’s estate, driving VIP guests around in sumptuous comfort. The design of the Bentayga, Bentley says, was inspired by The Macallan’s estate and the lush habitat that surrounds the distillery. The paint is a shade of green that the automaker calls Viridian and it was chosen to match the varied natural ecosystem. The exterior brightwork, meanwhile, has all been finished in gloss black, to reflect nature’s lack of chrome, and it sits on 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification Black Painted and Bright Machined wheels.
Inside, it’s finished with
Porpoise and Cumbrian Green hides, that offset against the Liquid Amber veneer
trim. That wood was chosen specifically as a nod to The Macallan’s amber
scotches. The seats also feature The Macallan’s Easter Elchies House mark to
represent the 18th-century Highland Manor home that sits at the heart of the estate.
The wood trim in front of the
front passenger features a “THE MACALLAN” inlay since it will be operating as a
tour vehicle. The four treadplates, too, feature the scotch maker’s motifs.
Finally, when you open the door, the LED puddle lights project the Easter
Elchies House mark on the ground.
The SUV will be supplied with
100% renewable electricity supplied by the Wardlaw Wood Wind Farm in Scotland
and will be recharged at a newly installed charging port on the estate. Bentley
plans to give The Macallan another vehicle in almost identical trim, but the
next one will be Bentley’s other plug-in hybrid, the Flying Spur hybrid.
