Brabham has a prestigious racing pedigree and the company is heading back to the track as they’ve unveiled the new BT63 GT2 Concept. Set to compete in the invitational class of the 2022 GT2 European Series, the BT63 GT2 rides on the same platform as the BT62R and features an aggressive front splitter, prominent side skirts and a large rear wing.

The model also sports lightweight wheels, a central fin and an aggressive diffuser. Other notable highlights include a ventilated rear fascia and exposed carbon fiber. Specifications haven’t been finalized, but the car is slated to produce approximately 600 hp. It will also be lightweight as the BT63 GT2 will come in between 1,250-1,300 kg.

Once homologation is completed, Brabham will join Audi, KTM, Lamborghini and Porsche in the series. That’s something to look forward too, but the model won’t come cheap as pricing starts at € 400,000 (US$ 473,540).

In a statement, Brabham’s Sporting Director said “Following on from the success of our customer racing program in the UK with the competition spec BT62 in GT Cup, Brabham Automotive is excited that SRO has extended an invitation for Brabham Automotive to race in the Fanatec GT2 European Series.” David Brabham went on to say, “ Having personally competed in SRO series in the past, I very much look forward to seeing a Brabham on track in this series.”
