Thekoreancarblog.com claims it knows what engines the Hyundai Casper will ship with: reportedly, there will be only two options. The subcompact crossover vehicle for developing countries will allegedly be available with a naturally aspirated engine rated at 76 PS and its turbocharged counterpart capable of 100 PS. As for the transmissions, five-speed manual, four-speed auto and DCT should made the cut.
According to various South Korean media, the Casper is close to production and currently running its certification tests. The subcompact comes based on the K1 platform of the Aura sedan and Santro hatchback. It is under four meters long and only offers enough room for two people in the back row.
Judging by the spy photos and official teasers, the car will sport two-tier round headlamps and taillights with triangular patterns. A digital dashboard may make its way inside along with a large central touchscreen. While unofficial, it is also reported that the company will be producing up to 70,000 Casper units at its Gwangju factory in Korea. Aside from being the smallest car on the lineup, it will also be the most affordable of them all.
