The Hechuang Z03 is targeted towards younger audiences and can be obtained for between 133,000 and 169,000 Chinese Yuan (US$ 20,800 - US$ 26,430).
The top spec will ship next year with a
100-kWh traction battery on board for up to 800 kilometers of
manufacturer-rated range. A maxed-out Tesla Model S Plaid is just barely better
in this respect. Then again, the company does not reveal the testing method
used; the NEDC range measurement standard widely used in China is considered
optimistic and outdated in most of the rest of the world, unlike the widely
recognized WLTP.
For now, buyers can only pre-order cars
with smaller 64.6-kWh and 76.8-kWh batteries rated at 500 and 600 kilometers. Electric motors are available in 183 PS and 218 PS variants.
The car is 4.6 meters long
with 2.75 m of wheelbase. Second row occupants enjoy plenty of legroom
and headroom, and even those on the third row still enjoy comfort thanks to
flat bench and floor.
Other than that, the interior has a
minimum of hardware controls, instead offering a 10.2-inch digital dashboard
and a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen. Adaptive cruise control, self-parking
and panoramic roof are listed under options.
