Images of the facelifted Volkswagen Tharu have appeared in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry. Compared to the pre-facelift version shown in the attached video, the 2023 Tharu features upsized headlights split in two by a radiator grille molding and accompanied by front bumper air intakes.
The taillights are tinted and connected
with an LED strip running across the tailgate. The middle section could light
up along with the rest of the taillights, but this is not certain. As for the
interior, it is not shown, but we don’t expect any drastic changes there.
The old 1.4-liter turbo engine rated at
150 PS is expected to drop from the lineup, making room for a
new 1.5-liter mill of the same power. Chances are good that the 2.0-liter
engine rated at 186 PS stays unchanged. In terms of size, the
new Tharu is largely the same, too, except for an added 5 mm of length
thanks to new bumpers.
