U.S.-based tuning shop SoFlo Customs has rolled out a modified GMC Hummer EV nicknamed ‘Strikeforce’. The whole car was treated with a special coating containing Kevlar fibers and received suspension upgrades along with a waterproof interior overhaul. The asking price of US$ 219,999 is roughly twice the cost of a maxed-out Hummer EV.

The body of the off-roader was treated with the material commonly used in bulletproof vests. SoFlo Customs makes no bulletproof claims, but points out that the coating should efficiently guard the body of the luxury car from scratches and dents out in the wild.

The ground clearance goes up by another 100 mm to a total of 400 mm. This lets the arches freely accommodate 20-inch wheels wrapped in 38-inch mud tires, an upgrade from the 35-inch largest stock option. The tuner claims these modifications have no effect on the functionality of the EV, which can still sidle in Crab Mode and hit 100 km/h in three seconds flat thanks to commanding over 1,000 horsepower.

SoFlo Customs used largely water-resistant materials for its luxury interior makeover. The company admits that the original plans involved producing just one such truck, but they liked the result enough to order two more Hummer EVs, which will be receiving a similar treatment soon.
