Chinese SUV maker Tank has announced a 3.0-liter V6 coming to its Tank 300 model. According to AutoHome.cn, the announcement was made at a fan gathering and all interested fans will now have to crowdfund the development of this modification.
To do this, the users must install the
Tank mobile app and leave a 20,000-Yuan advance payment. The company says it
will need 1,000 such orders to kickstart the development. Users cannot leave
multiple reservations or increase the payment amount, though.
If the initiative succeeds, the company
will begin working on the new spec in April. The sales, however, will likely
not start until the second quarter of 2024 due to manufacturing restrictions.
Along with their SUVs, everyone who ordered this specification will receive a
bonus of some kind.
The engine itself is the same as in the
current Tank 500, rated at 360 PS. Only one out of the
multiple existing off-road trim versions of the Tank 300 will be receiving it.
