Chinese automaker Nio plans to establish a new brand called Firefly in Europe in 2025, CarNewsChina reports. Its first vehicle will allegedly be priced under € 30,000, making it more attractive than the local offerings like the Volkswagen ID.3.

The marque will be EV-only and targeted towards younger drivers preferring smaller cars. The still-unnamed first model will be a crossover. We are told that it’s the car in these spy shots.

Aside from Europe, the same EV will be available in China. According to rumors, Nio plans to price it between 100,000 and 200,000 Yuan (13,000 and 25,000 euros). If true, it means that the premium for the European market will be fairly small compared to those other Chinese brands put on their exported cars.
