While motorcycles no longer race the legendary Pikes Peak International Hillclimb in the US, that hasn’t stopped Ducati from releasing the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. Calling it a “crossover” the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak takes the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 adventure-tourer as its basis and fits 17-inch forged wheels and performance tyres. Underscoring its racing origins, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak comes in livery inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP racing machines. This includes number plates on the side panels and on the windshield, making reference to the Pikes Peak race.
The racing design continues into the low,
smoked plexiglass windshield, road-legal Akrapovic exhaust muffler and gold
anodised fork legs. Carbon-fibre components on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak
are complemented by the Ducati Corse logo on the front beak and the “V4” logo
on the seat. Suspension is electronic semi-active, done with Ohlins Smart
EC2.0. Like the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S, the suspension on the
Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak uses “event based” logic based on the rider’s riding
style with Track, Dynamic, Comfort or Low Grip suspension modes, switchable on
the fly regardless of which riding mode is currently selected.
Reflecting its sporty nature, the Pikes
Peak Multistrada comes with an up-and-down quick shifter and three-level engine
braking control. Ergonomics are also different from the standard Multistrada
V4, the Pikes Peak coming with higher and more rearward footpegs to increase
maximum lean angle, with lower, narrower handlebars fitted for a more
aggressive seating position. Specific to the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is Race
Riding Mode. This lets the rev limiter come in a little more gradually than on
the Multistrada V4, giving the rider advance notice of when the engine rev
limit is being approached and allowing for more effective gear changes at high
speed.
Wheels on the Multistrada V4 Pikes Pike
are Marchesini forged alloy units, 17-inches in size. Sportsbike rubber is
fitted, the Pikes Peak wearing Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubber in 120/70 front
and 190/55 rear sizing. Aside from that, specifications for the Pikes Peak are
the same as the 2025 Multistrada V4. This includes all the technical and
electronic advancements such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot
Detection (BSD) along with the new Forward Collision Warning.
