The new Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey is the fourth special edition for 2025 and it’s clear we’re in overkill territory. The model has a Red Oxide exterior with a Satin Black hood and black exhaust tips. They’re joined by special badging and 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels that are backed up by a six-piston Brembo braking system with black calipers.
Besides the subtle but eye-catching
exterior, the Brass Monkey has a two-tone interior with Sepia Laguna leather
seats that have embroidered SRT Hellcat logos on the backrests. They’re joined
by a leather and suede steering wheel, silver/sepia accent stitching, and a
wrapped instrument panel. Other highlights include a suede headliner, forged
carbon fiber trim, and black chrome accents. Special touches aside, the Durango
comes nicely equipped with a sunroof, a wireless smartphone charger, and a
10.1-inch infotainment system. They’re joined by a 19-speaker Harman Kardon
audio system and a host of driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise
control.
Power is provided by a supercharged
6.2-liter V8 producing 710 hp and 874 Nm of
torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 3.5
seconds, run the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds, and hit a top speed of 290 km/h. As before, the brand is directing customers to use the Dodge Horsepower
Locator tool at DodgeGarage.com to find dealers with the latest special
edition. However, the site only lists the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI, so just
pick up the phone and pretend it’s 1978.
Unfortunately, pricing doesn’t predate the
internet era as the special edition starts at a hefty US$ 113,720 before
destination fees. Apparently, Dodge’s nostalgia for old-school communication
methods didn’t extend to old-school pricing.
