Maserati is ramping up its personalization options through the Fuoriserie program, and who better to put it to the test than the grandchildren of Ettore Maserati himself? The descendants of the company’s founder recently took delivery of a one-off MC20 at Maserati’s headquarters in Modena. This special edition, aptly named the MC20 Maserati per Maserati, subtly indicates its connection to the Maserati family. Brothers Alberto and Ettore Maserati chose the MC20 Cielo as the base for their custom build, appreciating its retractable glass roof.
The exterior is finished in Blu Infinito
with Bianco Pastello double stripes. A large Trident emblem, painted in Grey
Pastel, adorns the rear deck. Additional custom touches include the “Maserati
per Maserati” badge and lettering on the side profile, the optional carbon
fiber package, and Rosso (red) brake calipers behind the 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in
Alcantara, complemented by Macrotwill carbon fiber accents. The Nero and
Nero-Blu color scheme extends across the dashboard, door panels, and the
six-way sports seats. Under the hood, as with the standard MC20 Ciello, this
special edition is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine,
producing 621 hp and 730 Nm of torque. Power is
sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The delivery event took place at the Viale Ciro Menotti headquarters in Modena,
attended by a few special guests and several Maserati classics, including the
A6, 6C34, and 6CM models.
Alberto and Ettore were joined by three of
the founder’s great-grandchildren and the wife of the founder’s son, who passed
away in 2018. Representing Maserati at the event were Chief Test Driver Andrea
Bertolini, Global Chief Commercial Officer Luca Delfino, and long-time employee
Ermanno Cozza.
While Maserati has kept pricing details
for the MC20 Maserati per Maserati under wraps, one can only assume that
Alberto and Ettore enjoyed a special discount in tribute to their late
grandfather.
