Ather S340
The Ather S340 electric scooter is the
first product to come out of Ather Energy, a Bangalore-based startup which was
co-founded by two IITians. The scooter was unveiled in February earlier this
year.
During the Beta testing of the development
prototype, Ather Energy gave a couple of its enthusiasts an opportunity to ride
it. Here is a short video of the Beta testing.
The Ather S340 which targets environment
conscious urban audience offers a 5 KW motor which is claimed to provide a flat
torque output. Electricity is supplied by a li-ion battery. The scooter is
capable of reaching a top speed of 72 km/h and has a range of 60 km.
Ather claims that the battery would last
for 50,000 km. 80% of charge can be achieved in about 50 minutes in fast charge
mode and it can also be charged via a regular 5A socket.
Underpinned by a hybrid aluminium
chassis, the Ather S340 has a low centre of gravity and is equipped with
premium features such as LED headlight that can adjust its illumination
according to the ambient light, a water-proof touchscreen dashboard which can
offer personalized experience based on the rider’s profile, navigation,
smartphone connectivity and many more.
The Ather S340 is the first two wheeler

commence later this year.
