Another image of 2020 Kia Soul has
surfaced, this time showing its fresh face. This second image comes
to us courtesy of the dedicated Korean-car fanboys at Kia-World.net, depicting
the thin vertical headlights, front fender, hood, side mirrors, and part of the
greenhouse – complete with a two-tone paintjob. The new Soul looks poised to double down on the current model’s signature
quirky style and modernize it for the years to come.
The Soul is the last
carryover from an otherwise bygone era of oddball rolling boxes from the Far
East that once included such oddities as the Honda Element, Scion xB, and
Nissan Cube. Only where those have all long since disappeared from the
marketplace, Kia seems to be making a go of it.
The tall-roofed
crossover/hatchback form factor not withstanding, the 2020 Kia Soul is expected
to pack within its fresh sheetmetal new equipment, a more ergonomic and
tech-laden interior, and a variety of powertrain options – including naturally
aspirated, turbocharged, and electric motivation.
We’re looking
forward to seeing the finished product revealed later this month at the LA Auto
Show. But given the pace at which these teasers have been reaching our desks,
we don’t doubt there’ll be more to come between now and then.
